BASDIVING

placedBonaire is known for its easy shore diving. Most of the diving is done on the west (leeward) side of the island. But there is another side of Bonaire, the East Coast, also known as the “Wild Side”.  It offers a truly adventurous and unforgettable diving experience.

Compared to the west side of the island, the East Coast offers a different and more adventurous kind of diving experience. From almost flat, wide spread reefs to steep rugged walls the East Coast offers a great variety of dive sites that are very different from the west side dives. It is known for bigger creatures and its pristine, untouched coral reefs which make diving on this side of the island a very rewarding and unique experience. There are even several sites where you can find historical artifacts like canons and anchors from 18th century ship wrecks.

Contrary to popular believe the East Coast can be dived from shore almost every day. You really do not need to wait for a wind reversal. With 35 (and counting) dive sites to choose from there is always somewhere on the East Coast we can dive. The general rule being: the lower the wind and waves, the more sites become possible to dive.

Many of the dive sites we do are not offered by anyone else on the island. Also the way we like to do our dives sets us apart Baby Beach divefrom the other dive operators.

We want you to get the most and very best out of your dive. Where possible we prefer to make drift dives and let the current take us to the next exit. We know the entries and exits as well as the diving itself can be challenging. It may involve surf, surge, currents and jumping of a cliff.

When picking a site we will keep in mind your experience level and comfort zone. Before each dive we take our time to go through the dive plan, inform you about interesting features the dive offers and to teach you the tricks and techniques that apply to that particular dive so you are well prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. This way you will not have any trouble with the entry/exit and you will actually be able to use the surge and current to your advantage making your dive even more enjoyable.

We do not put limits on dive times and will dive as long as possible. Depending on which dive we do it can last anywhere between 70 minutes and 2 hours!

Dives with us are private. You will not be part of a group. This way we can show you more. It also allows for more personal attention and the possibility of giving assistance with entry/exit.

As much as we love seeing big stuff like Sharks, Rays, Turtles, big Lobsters and Green Morays, we also like to show you the smaller and rare creatures the East Coast has to offer. Queen- & Ocean Triggerfish, Porkfish, Mutton Hamlets, Seaweed & Longhorn blennies, Hogfish, High Hats and Black Brotula's are high on our list.
